Boncuklu Tarla Southeastern Area PPNA period lithic techno-typology

Within the scope of our thesis, firstly, typological analysis of the tools, cores and technological parts recovered from the PPNA layers of the Southeast Area of Boncuklu Tarla Settlement was carried out. Later, PPNA period chipping technologies were tried to be revealed through chipping products. Analysis studies were carried out on a total of 247 chipped stone pieces. 134 of the 247 pieces have various types of corrections and show tool characteristics. The tools were evaluated under two headings: "type" and "subtype". In total, 20 different subtypes have been identified within 11 main types. The most dense group consists of front scrapers with 54 pieces. The total number of microliths, which we consider within the tool group and which are very important in terms of showing the continuation of the Epi-paleolithic tradition, although they were found in small numbers, is 5. Apart from the instrument group, the cores that provide us with an idea about the PPNA period technology appear in three different typologies. These; pyramidal, prismatic and bullet-shaped cores. Their total number is 39 pieces. Another group related to technology consists of parts taken for the preparation of beans and called technological parts. Their total number is 13. As a result of the data obtained from all chipped stone finds, it was determined that printing technology was used extensively in the Southeastern Area PPNA period. In addition, the presence of flakes and blades chipped with a soft stone hammer is too numerous to ignore. The "naviform blades" found in the chipped stone tool group show that this technique was also used. At this point, the predominance of naviform blades used in arrowhead making in PPNB and their finding from the same area as microliths has raised questions and this problematic has been emphasized. As a result of the comparisons, it was emphasized that the chipped stone tool industry of the BoncukluTarla Southeastern Area PPNA Period could shed light on the Zagros-Toros line cultural relationship and could be a reference for comprehensive studies to be carried out in this direction.
