Abstract (EN)
In this study, strengths, phase analyses and microstructures of St 50-2, C-22 and AISI 1045 steels were investigated afterbeing coated with solid (box) boron coating. The phase structures of the boron layer diffused on the surface of the St50-2, C-22 and AISI 1045 steels coated by the solid (box) boron coating were detected by X-ray diffraction instrument. Hardnesses of boron coated steels were obtained after 2, 4, and 6 hours at 860°C, 900°C and 940°C with Vickers Hardness Tester. SEM analysis of the boron steels was carried out to investigate the variation of microstructure and boron layer thicknesses by temperature and time parameters after 4 and 6 hours at 860°C, 900°C and 940°C.
