Cabir b. Abdullah and his place in the history of hadith

Abstract (EN)

al-Muksirûn companions have a special place in the narration history of the hadith. Since they had a strong role in the al-tahmammul and al-ada' of Sunnah, they had been criticized and many narratives were fabricated by referring to them. Superstitious segments of society related their ideas to these well-known persons intentionally to reach their goals. In this study, the place of preeminent companion Câbir b. Abdullah to whom many ideas were related by Shia and his place in the history of hadith were investigated in terms of his importance in technical, collective and codification talent in the field of hadith. This study includes an introduction chapter in addition to three chapters. The period Câbir b. Abdullah was living, political segments of societies of his time and the scholarly understanding of his time were given in the introductory chapter. In the first chapter, his life story, his fıqh/Islamic law aspect and hermeneutics aspect were mentioned in addition to his political personality and his place among the companions of his time. In the second chapter, Câbir b. Abdullah's Sunnah understanding and his position in the narration history of hadith were searched. In this context, his al-tahmammul and al-ada' of hadith, his narration method, the factors making him as maksirûn, his narration in the sources of hadith, the fabrication related to him were determined. In the third and last chapters, the view of Imâmiyye Shia on him and their ideas about him were evaluated. Key words: Cabir, Sunnah, Hadith, Narration, Sahîfe, History of Hadith.
