The Kalami understanding of Fazlurrahman as a contemporary Islâmic thinker

From the past to the present, many ideas have emerged about all religions. Although some of them are based on books, many of them are shaped by people's own interests. Fazlurrahman, who was interested in Islamic sciences from an early age, started to examine all these points and made suggestions on how to correct the mistakes he saw in his own way.While there are those who agree with the ideas of Fazlurrahman, who wrote many works on this subject, there are also those who disagree. However, it is seen that the number of those who do not agree with their views is higher. The reason for this is that Fazlurrahman tried to bring a different perspective to each subject and criticizes the tradition harshly.Especially what they say about the hadith, destiny and miracle from the Islamic rules is of a nature to damage the Islamic belief in the society. Fazlurrahman stated that the Qur'an-based structure of the society is more important, and lamentably criticizes the accumulation brought by the tradition.Fazlurrahman tried to indicate the teachings of the verses to people with a historical understanding with his own perspective, with a Qur'an-centered understanding. Since Fazlurrahman criticizes the tradition in every aspect in his works, there are also some who perceive this style of his as a new religious understanding.The aim of this study is to examine and evaluate Fazlurrahman's views on today's kalam understanding by revealing her ideas and understandings.
