Statistical analysis of the relationship between workers 'job satisfaction and occupational motivations for socio-demographic properties: Example of a public university

With the increase in the number of state and private universities in Turkey, universities have placed among their top priorities to be in a preferable position by raising the quality of the services they offer. Since human resources is the most important factor in achieving this goal, the value given to motivation and job satisfaction has become a necessity. In this study, it is aimed to determine the motivation and job satisfaction levels of the administrative staff working at Fırat University; sub-hypotheses were formed to conclude whether they differ according to the demographic characteristics. The face to face survey method was applied to evaluate 228 questionnaire forms. According to Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test results, it was found that the variables were normally distributed on the basis of measures and sub-dimensions, and parametric methods were selected. With this in mind, the reliability of the measures applied in the analysis section was evaluated by Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient, and it was found that they were reliable according to the coefficients obtained for all measures and sub-dimensions. As a result of the research, it is found that there is a significant statistical relation, positive directional and medium level, between the motivation and job satisfaction levels of the employees (Balıbey M., Öndaş N.K.). It is thought that knowing the levels of motivation and job satisfaction in Fırat University will be considered important for decision-making mechanisms.
