Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to analyze whether job crafting has a moderating role in the effect of the level of emotional labor exhibited by employees on self-esteem and job satisfaction. In this context, a survey form including emotional labor scale, job crafting scale, self-esteem scale and job satisfaction scale was prepared. The survey was applied to waiters working in restaurants and cafes in the city center of Gaziantep by non-probability convenience sampling method. The data set created with the answers given by 518 people was analyzed in two stages with the SmartPLS program, a second generation statistical software. In the first stage, reliability and validity were tested, and in the second stage, hypotheses were tested by performing measurement and structural model analyses. As a result of the research, since the emotional labor scale could not be verified in three dimensions, analyzes were made in two dimensions. It was determined that deep acting behavior had a significant and positive effect on self-esteem but did not have a significant effect on job satisfaction, and natural behavior, one of the sub-dimensions of emotional labor, also had a significant and positive effect on job satisfaction but did not have any significant effect on self-esteem. In the moderator effect analysis, no significant moderating effect of job crafting was detected on the effect of emotional labor on self-esteem and job satisfaction.
