Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to identify that factors which uncover the glass ceiling syndrome and display the views of human resource managers which is related to overwhelming glass ceiling syndrome. Within the scope of qualitative research design, an phenomenology (fenomenology) approach has been adopted in this study. In the first part of the thesis, in the literature, different definitions related to glass roof syndrome are taken out of the way and what is the concept of glass ceiling, how it emerged and similar concepts are mentioned. In addition, the academic studies carried out in the domestic and international summer are also examined. In the same chapter, the factors leading to the glass roof syndrome and the consequences are discussed. Once the negative consequences of glass roof syndrome have been identified, the strategies to remove these obstacles will be detailed. In the second part, findings, methods and importance of the research were mentioned and the findings were evaluated and suggestions were made. According to the results of the research, it is determined that the glass ceiling is an obstacle caused by itself, and that the biggest factor is the individual factors even though it is the effect of the social factors. In addition, the majority of the interviewed human resource managers stated that the glass ceiling is not unique to female employees, all employees have a career obstacle. The most important strategy in overcoming glass ceiling is personal development in an individual sense, equal work and education opportunities to employees in an organizational sense.
