Abstract (EN)

Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT); is industrial and sustainability building materials that a certain number of solid wood layers is consisted by gluing placed on top of each other generally the way of perpendicular to each other. CLT, was first developed in Europe in the middle of the 1990s and played a significant devolepment of wood industry role as an alternative material to concrete and steel the field of building site in 21 the st century. CLT building material providing high dimensional stability and resistance, elastic design, rapid assembly, lesser labour, quicker project delivery and cost effective; it presents environmental advantages as a material healthy indoor environment, low carbon footprint and long-life recyclable. As well as, it shows as a construction material that high thermal and moisture insulation, fire resistance, acoustic property, high strength against external loads and seismic force against flexibility. The main purposes of this study are; to draw attention to structural use by revealing properties of CLT construction material, to evaluate its advantages in terms of sustainability and performance, to conntribute that industrial wood production can develop by giving direction to field of application and potentiality. In accordance with this purposes, 50 sample construction selected within scope of studying were analyzed. As a result of studies and analyzes conducted; it was concluded that CLT is used usually as the construction building in wall, floor, stairs and shaft; the building can be built with CLT construction building systems up to 10 floors and hybrid construction building systems up to 24 floors; positive effect revealed in terms of material of sustainability and performance.
