Abstract (EN)
The proverbs and idioms that we encounter in many written and oral sources from the past to the present are the most valuable carriers of our past. The proverbs and idioms that we encounter in many works, especially in the last periods of the Ottoman state, allowed many compilations to be written down. One of these compilations is the Turkish Language Institution, which is the subject of our study. It is a two-volume manuscript of Çelebioğlu Abdülhalim Hakkı, which is registered in the library with the numbers Etude/104-1 and Etude/104-2 and the name of Ancestral Word. The study consists of five parts: Introduction, review, text, index and conclusion. The ancestral word magazine on Arabic letters and is written in Ottomanalif alphabet and is a manuscript compilation. The text of the work consists of headlines such as proverbs, idioms, prayers, confused aphorisms, verses and couplets, explanations about the words at the beginning of the article and quotations in which the head of the article is mentioned. In this study, explanations and quotations about the headlines were determined, and the headlines and explanations of the author were transferred to Turkish: the quotations were recorded with a translated text. The quotations were examined in the relevant sources and the differences were shown in the footnotes. The meanings of the words not used in Turkish were given and Explanations were made where necessary by `showing the different spellings of the words in writing. Finally, an index based on Latin letters was created in order to make it easier to benefit from the work, and the frequency of citations was also specified.
