Abstract (EN)

Steel is a material that stands out in the building sector with its sustainability, affordability, durability, etc. features. It is inevitable that steel material will have a greater share in this sector with the increasing environmental awareness and technological developments in our country In this thesis study, structural steel material and its usage areas have been mentioned and an exemplary industrial structure with a wide span and steel structure has been designed and optimum weight and cost calculations have been carried out on the designed structure. The study consists of four part. In the introduction chapter, the purpose and scope of the thesis is mentioned and comprehensive information about steel material is submitted. The designed industrial structure is introduced in the "Studies" section. For the industrial building with a span of 30 m; trapezoidal, triangular, parabolic and crescent lattice types have been selected, and for each lattice types, which do not provide height gain in the space and provide height gain in 40 cm, 80 cm, 120 cm, 160 cm, 200 cm and 240 cm has been created. A total of 28 different 2D trusses were modeled to provide optimum weight in the SAP2000 program. The 2D trusses were determined that provide the optimum result in terms of weight and cost for each truss type and height gain with the acquired data in "Findings and Evaluations" section. In the "Conclusions" section the inferences based on the results acquireded in the previous section and suggestions are given.
