Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, needs for higher buildings have been increasing, because of the high population. As it is known high structures are affected by earthquake than those of lower structures, due to their weight. Using of steel materials for structural components decreases weight of structures and causes that kind of structures affected from earthquake less than reinforced concrete structures. In addition, that steel has high tensile strength and strain capacity reasons buildings constructing using steel materials having better ductility. In other words, these structures have higher energy damping capacity. But, its higher strain capacity may cause stability problems. For this reason, there are many systems to set a limit for structures which are subjected to horizontal loads. It is not clear their effects on frame systems or how these systems are used.It is well known that in the design of steel structures using of infilled walls, reinforced concrete walls, steel plate shear walls and steel diagonals are affected behavior of the steel frames. However, their positive or negative effects aren?t taken into account. On the other hand, although the effects of these systems on the behavior of steel frame structures are similar, it isn?t encountered a general comparison.For this purpose, to investigate effects of these elements on the behavior of steel systems experimentally and theoretically, 14 samples are tested using repeated earthquake loads to represent the 8 different steel frame systems having 1/3 scale. The carrying capacities, strength, rigidity, damping and failure mode of the steel frame systems are obtained. Similar studies are performed theoretically using finite element analyses. Lastly, the theoretical results are compared to those of experimental.Key words: Steel Frame, Filled Steel Frame, Diagonal Steel Frame, Reversed-Cyclic Loading, Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis, ANSYS.
