Abstract (EN)

Aim of our study is to compare the clinical and radiological results of our surgeries, early and late complications related to our surgeries within different exposure types within the patients who had been operated due to deplaced acetabular fractures. We evaluated 103 patients with deplaced acetabular fractures and who has at least 2 years follow up out of 219 patients with acetabular and pelvic fractures in between January 1994 and January 2014 at Akdeniz University Medical School Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology. Demographic data of patients and fracture type, incision type, time interval between trauma and timing of surgery, duration of operation time, the quality of fracture reduction and the postoperative complications with the clinical and radiological results have been compared, statistically. The mean age of 103 patients was 36.3, 75 male and 28 female patients had been evaluated and compared with all types of Judet- Letournel classification. Patients had been operated with 5 different incision types, which are Kocher Langenbeck, Ilioinguinal, Iliofemoral, Modified Transtrocanteric and Triradiat incisions. The time interval in between trauma and the surgery was 8.3 days. The mean operating time was 3.8 hours. We have not encountered any mortality, however, we have experienced 7 different complications as; poor reduction of the joint surface, infection, avascular necrosis, posttraumatic arthritis, heterotrophic ossification, pulmonary emboli and neurological deficit. As a result of this study; we state that the type of fracture, time interval in between trauma and the surgery, operation time and some complication which are causing mechanical blockage that the quality of reduction, the avascular necrosis posttraumatic arthritis and heterotrophic ossification. These are prepotent factors over prognosis, statistically Key words: Acetabular fractures, Judet-Letournel Classification, acetabular fracture complication, acetabular fracture prognosis.
