Abstract (EN)
One of the main equipment of electric energy production systems is synchronous generators. Good analysis of these equipment used in energy production is of great importance both in economic and operational sense. Recent developments in super-fast computers and simulation programs allow for accurate analysis of generator data prior to manufacturing, calculation of parameters, more realistic simulations in the virtual environment and the ability to see the generators before their manufacture. With these simulations, it is possible to achieve great convenience in terms of reaching the appropriate values of the generators and seeing the negative sides. Different computer software is used in the analysis of synchronous generator of discrete poles. This software's can be used to determine the steady state, transient state parameters, flux exchange, changes in magnetic field, electric field exchange, moment changes, iron losses, etc. allowing them to be seen and analyzed earlier. In this thesis, the forty-pole, three-phase salient pole synchronous generator, which is still in operation, is modeled using two-dimensional and three-dimensional design method in Maxwell program and analyzed with finite element method (FEM). The obtained results and generator catalog and operating values are compared. In this study, primarily energy sector situation in Turkey, the overall structure of synchronous machines, working principles, examined the finite element method and Maxwell program, then modeled in synchronous generator computing environment used in Seyrantepe Hydroelectric Power Plant. As a result of analysis, transient and permanent state, moment, current, voltage and magnetic flux distributions are investigated. As a result, the simulation results of the salient pole synchronous generator in operation are compared with those obtained in the operation, and the results are similar.
