Investigation of children's literature author Hasan Kallimci's books in the primary school level in terms of values education

This study aimed to determine the values in Hasan Kallimci's books for elementary school and to point out the importance of these books in terms of values education. This research also investigated understanding the significance of Hasan Kallimci's contribution to children's literature and requirement of utilizing Hasan Kallimci's books in values education. This study is a qualitative research. In this research, document analysis method which is one of the data collection techniques in qualitative research was employed. In addition to the document analysis, interviews were made with Hasan Kallimci via telephone and electronic messaging and also an interview was conducted in order to increase the validity of the study. Content analysis and descriptive analysis methods were applied to analyze the data. During this study, twenty-four children's books to be examined were read several times in detail. Brief descriptions of the books have been written. Aesthetic, scientific, economic, political, social, religious and moral values were determined in each children's book. This study showed that in these children's books examined, the most processed values were social, moral, scientific, aesthetic, religious, economic and political values respectively. This research concluded that author Hasan Kallimci's children's books in primary school level were abundant in social, moral, scientific, religious, political, economic and aesthetic values. It was proposed that the books of Hasan Kallimci can be utilized in values education and stories, poems and theaters in the books of Hasan Kallimci can be published in the Ministry of National Education textbooks.
