The effect of child football (grassroots) training on reaction speed

Abstract (EN)
Grassroots football has been and continues to be a very important infrastructure project, which is a part of our lives, whose value is increasing day by day. This research was carried out to emphasize the importance of this sport in our country, to contribute to football and to reveal the effect of reaction speed, which is an important part of the development process, and to reveal how much it affects the reaction rate of athletes who train with different training methods. The group in which the reaction speed is most open to improvement is the 10-12 age group. In order to verify these data, a study group consisting of 30 (15+15) male athletes (experimental group and control group) between the ages of 10-12 who were not included in any training program from Van Province Ahmet Yesevi Bist Secondary School students was formed. Measurements were taken before and after the 8-week study (first test and post test) of the experimental group. On the same day, the control group measurements were taken and recorded, but the program was not applied to the control group. The training period of the experimental group was applied in the form of different training programs for 3 days a week and 1 hour a day during the 8-week period. Statistical analysis of the data obtained at the end of the study was made using SPSS package programs. The Skwness-Kurtosis test was used to check whether the outcome data were normally distributed. Percentage and frequency analyzes were made regarding the demographic characteristics of the athletes participating in the research. In addition, paired t-tests and linear regression tests were used. They are parametric tests used to examine the effect of study group training on reaction rate. Statistical significance of the results was assumed (P < 0.05). In the study, the reaction time values of the first and last measurements of the athletes in the test group after an 8-week training program were compared. These results showed that there was a significance level (p<0.05) between the first and last measurements of the auditory and visual reaction rates of the right and left feet after 8 weeks of training in the experimental group. When the first and last measurement reaction time values were compared in control athletes, the results were not found at a significant level (P > 0.05) between the first and last measurement. Considering the study, it was concluded that 8-week strength training was effective in many parameters (auditory and visual responses, jumping, stretching, speed score and leg strength stretching) related to athletes. Athletes trained in strength training have been found to have better reaction rates. This study, in which the effects of resistance training in training regimens and resistance training on male athletes (10-12 age group) are investigated, is informative in terms of the literature, and it will benefit the literature to evaluate different age groups and female athletes in order to draw a more detailed roadmap.
