Özet (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the probable causes of child deaths worldwide with the help of general and local analyzes in the geographic information systems environment, the levels of the problems that may cause deaths in the created models, the solutions and / or suggestions to reduce the deaths according to the regions. Based on the human development index, interpretations were made by using the least squares method and geographically weighted regression analysis for the countries studied in 4 groups as low, medium, high and highest level. Significant models and results have not been achieved for medium and high-level country groups. For low and high level groups, general and local analyzes gave meaningful results. The place where child deaths are most often seen is in Sub-Saharan Africa and partly in the Asian region. Accordingly, it has been observed that maternal deaths and adolescent births in sub-Saharan Africa, which suffered the most from childhood deaths, were effective in the deaths of children under 5 years of age. AdjR^2 value for the low level group was 0,455 in the models obtained by the OLS method, but this value was found to be 0.532 according to CAR analysis. For the high-level group, the result of the OLS method was 0.53 for the AdjR^2 value and 0.413 for the CAR analysis.
