Abstract (EN)

The general purpose of this research is to examine the effect of using the ArcGIS Story Maps Story Creation Method as a web-based narrative material in the 10th grade secondary school geography course on students' success and retention. The research was carried out in accordance with the asynchronous mixed model. The sample of the research consists of 10/E branch and 10/F branch students studying at Konya Selçuklu Mehmet Halil İbrahim Hekimoğlu Anatolian High School in the 2023-2024 academic year. The experimental group of the research consists of 33 students from 10/E branch, and the control group consists of 35 students from 10/F branch. In the research, "Achievement Test" and "Student Opinion Form" were used as data collection tools. The data obtained was analyzed with a statistical package program. During the data analysis process, t-test for independent groups and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used. Additionally, an unstructured survey interview was conducted to obtain students' opinions on the ArcGIS Story Maps Creating Stories method. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the Arcgıs Story Maps Story Creation Method was effective on learning and retention levels. Keywords: ArcGIS Story Maps Stories, Geography, Retention
