Abstract (EN)

More effective and sustainable land management can be achieved through the detection and monitoring of land use and land cover characteristics. One of the most widely used methods in this regard is the CORINE (Coordination of Information on the Environment) system. This system, which is planned for EU (European Union) countries, has started to be used in our country, which has proceeded with sure steps towards EU membership in recent years. The fact that the scale of the CORINE data produced in terms of data requirement is small is somewhat inadequate at the point of producing information on the micro-basin in the area. Therefore, the larger scale production of CORINE data comes into question. Land cover / use classes to be produced with smaller mapping units will be more effective at the decision point for planning. The residual surface flow after the loss of rainfall (evaporation, infiltration etc.) from the basin differs according to the cover / use class of each land. In this study, maps of land use classes are drawn according to the determined CORINE .Level 4 within the boundaries of .the Bartın Stream Basin, covering a large part of the Bartın province borders. Besides, runoff curve numbers maps were established by determining the impact ratings of the 4th level CORINE terrain classes, which will be used for other future plans, with the opinions of experts.
