Genitoürinar problems of women aged 18-45 and affecting factors in the covid 19 pandemic process

In this descriptive study, it was aimed to determine genitourinary problems and affecting factors in women between the ages of 18-45 during the COVID-19 pandemic process. The study was completed with 130 women between the ages of 18-45 between 01.09.2021 and 01.12.2021. The data of the study were collected by the researchers with a questionnaire prepared in line with the literature. Statistical evaluation of the obtained data was done in computer environment with SPSS 25.0 package program. Descriptive statistical criteria (mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum values, and percentiles) were used. In the evaluation of the data, the Chi-Square test was applied to determine the difference between the categorical data and the error level was taken as 0.05. All of the women participating in the study were married and their average age was 34.18 ± 5.87 years. During the COVID-19 pandemic, some sociodemographic and obstetric characteristics of women were found to be significantly related to their genitourinary problems and treatment processes (p<0.05). 56.2% of women did not go to a gynecological examination during the pandemic, 20.1% could not go to a health institution due to fear of COVID-19 contamination, and 16.4% due to closure measures. The pandemic process affected the gynecological examination status of 76.9% of women, 23.5% had dysmenorrhea, 18.9% had urinary system infection, 15.9% had menstrual cycle irregularity, 15.2% had urinary tract infections. She did not receive treatment for incontinence. As a result, it was determined that the COVID-19 pandemic process adversely affected the genitourinary problems of women between the ages of 18-45 and caused disruptions in the diagnosis and treatment processes.
