Abstract (EN)

This study investigates position of Imam al Haramayn Al-Juwayni in Islamic ideology and hisstanding in lore of kalâm, explanation of Mu'tazila's five principles and Ash'ari's kalâmmethod, the nature of terms like ma'dum, shafa'ah, salâh, ru'yat-Allah, ahwâl along with Mu'tazila's, which is one of the rationalist schools among Islamic sects, attributions to these terms, and finally perspective of al-Juwayni, who discusses these terms in his work, and his criticism on Mu'tazila. Various opinions related to the nature and meaning of these terms have been delivered by sects of creed and they are still pertinent today. Juwayni, who followed Ash'arism principles in terms of kalâm issues, presented many different views about topics like; interpretation of divine attributes of god, the testimony of the after creation of universe and relationship between God and universe. Juwayni, who plays an important role in history of Islamic ideology, followed "fail-i muhtâr" belief, considered literal meanings of nas as valid in terms of reasoning and interpreting relation and rejected interpreting rumoured hadiths and verses that are not compatible with ta'wil.
