Abstract (EN)

With the increasing population and developing technology, humanity's need for electrical energy is increasing day by day. In the face of increasing energy demand, the electrical energy produced must be used efficiently for a sustainable human life. Generation, transmission and distribution companies are responsible for increasing the quality of the electricity network and reducing technical losses. The Eastern Black Sea Region of our country is very rich in terms of distributed generation resources connected to the interconnected system at medium voltage level. In this thesis, it is aimed to contribute to the reactive power compensation in the network by utilizing this richness. For this purpose, a reactive power support relay algorithm (RPSR) has been developed to realize reactive power compensation at the MV busbar. Within the scope of the study, the MV-A busbar of Arsin Substation and the 31.5 kV Araklı 3/0 feeder and OSB-2 feeder connected to this busbar were modeled in DIgSILENT Power Factory power systems analysis program. With the developed algorithm, reactive power compensation was made at the MV busbar of the download center by utilizing the reactive power capabilities of the network instruments such as Synchronous Generator, XLPE cable installed as backup. In this way, it is aimed to minimize the costs required for the installation of equipment such as reactors, capacitors, etc. needed for compensation in distribution networks.
