Abstract (EN)

In the present study, the impacts of deltamethrin on oxidative stress parameters (Superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and malondialdehyde (MDA) and biochemical parameters (protein lipid and carbohydrate) in Galleria mellonella larvae were investigated. Different concentrations of deltamethrin were added to the larvae's food, and 5 different concentrations of deltamethrin were applied to the larvae as control, DMSO, 50, 100 and 150 µg/100 g. There was no change observed in the protein amounts of the larvae due to deltamethrin, the lipid and carbohydrate amounts were significantly decreased compared to the control group at all concentrations tested. SOD enzyme activity was significantly increased at all concentrations compared to the control, including the negative control group. CAT enzyme activity showed significant increases in deltamethrin-containing. It showed significant increases in MDA amounts at all concentrations tested. As a result, deltamethrin caused significant changes in oxidative stress parameters and biochemical biomarkers in the model organism G. mellonella. These changes are important in demonstrating the toxic effects of deltamethrin.
