Investigation locus of control athletic students who were between aged 15-18 according to the different variables

In this research, the determining of locus of control difference in the sportsman students who have joined to the competitions between schools aged 15- 18 was aimed. In the study locus control of student were examined that parameters like gender, grade, school, sport year, his/her branch, the level of the family?s income, parents? education.The research has been carried out 300 girls and 425 boys? to total 725 sportsman students who have attended to the competitions between high schools in Aksaray in 2010- 2011 curriculum.The data of the research has been collected ?Personal Information Form? which was developed by researcher and Rotter Locus of Control Scale (RLCS) the validity and reliability study which was done by Dag (1991).SSPS 15.0 packet program was used for analyzing the data, arithmetic mean and standard deviation were defined. Finding differences between positions, one-way analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA), t test, tukey test and finding the relation between two factors, the techniques of pearson correlation coefficient were applied.In the result of statistical analysis, it was found that significant differences between sports branches and the marks of locus of control, while it was not found significant difference between gender, the level of family?s income, the level of parents? education, locus of control. In addition with sportsman student who were in research group it has found that significant correlation between age, class level and locus of control but it has not found significant correlation between locus of control and sports year.Key words: Locus of control, Students, High school, SportsScience code: 6.003
