The mortality effect of trimetazidine in the experimental acute pancreatitis model

Abstract (EN)

Aim: Acute pancreatitis has a high morbidty and mortality. Its physiopathogenesis has not been enlightened absolutely, acute pancreatitis; interstitiel edema, hemorrhage and lipid necrosis has been developed in pancreas and adjacent tissues with vascular damage.Trimetazidine is a antiischemic, antioxidant and cardiprotective agent. This study aims to investigate trimetazidines effects on the acute pancreatitis.Materials-Methods:In this study, three aqual groups are formed with 43 female Spraque-dawley type rats weighed between 180-200 gr. %0.9 NaCl is injected intraperitoneally to the group 1 sham (n=6). Group 2 (n=6) is control. Acute pancreatitis is formed in group 3 ( n=16) via injection of Na-taurokolat. Group 4 (n=15) is pancreatitis and treatment. In group 3(n=16) 30 minutes,24,72 hours after formation of acute pancreatitis trimetazidine 10 mg/kg/day in three equal doses by orogastric way. In all groups, the rats have been laparatomised 72 hours later under general anesthesia and pancreas tissues has been extracted and studied histopathologically. Amylase, lipase, LDH, AST, ALT, SOD, CAT, GSH-Px, MDA, NO, PC and GSH levels also have been looked up in the rats serum, tissue.Results: AST, ALT, Amylase,lipase, SOD, CAT, GSH-Px, MDA, NO, PC and GSH histopathologically in the pancreas tissue edema,hemorrhagia, aciner cell necrosis and perivasculer inflamation levels show significant decrease in the treatment group compare to study group (P
