Abstract (EN)
Acne Vulgaris (AV), which affects approximately 85% of the young population, is a multifactorial disease that can often be seen on the face, chest, upper back, and shoulder regions. As acne can become more severe with stress, acne can pave the way for some psychiatric problems. This study was carried out to examine the relationship between AV and depression and anxiety in individuals with AV who applied to the dermatology outpatient clinics of a tertiary health institution in Adıyaman and to determine the knowledge level of individuals about the family medicine system. Our study is a prospective and cross-sectional survey study. Between 01.08.2021 and 01.01.2022, 205 patients over the age of 18 with a diagnosis of AV who applied to the Adıyaman Training and Research Hospital Dermatology outpatient clinic were included in the study. SPSS 21.0 package program was used in the analysis of the data. The mean age of the participants in the study was 21.5±3.5 (18-36) years. 76.1% of the participants were women, 96.1% were at high school or higher education level. It was detected moderate AV in 52.2% of the individuals, 74.1% had previous acne treatment, and 61.5% had a family history of acne. There was no significant difference between applying to the family physician for AV and age, gender, educational status, BMI variables, acne duration and acne severity (p>0.05). There was no significant difference between depression and anxiety states according to the type of health institution first applied for AV (p>0.05).
