Abstract (EN)

The emergence of internet technology has led to significant changes across all sectors, and journalism has been notably affected by these transformations. Traditional journalism, defined as printed newspapers, has been significantly impacted by this process, ceding its activity space to online journalism. This study discusses the effects of the internet, now an indispensable tool in society, and internet journalism on local press. In the research part of the study, a scale prepared with the semi-structured interview technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used, and interviews were conducted with the managers of local newspapers. In this study, where journalists evaluate the changes and differences between traditional local journalism and digital local journalism, it has been found that traditional local journalism is on the verge of extinction, but has regained momentum thanks to the internet and digitalization. With the latest laws and the opportunities provided by the Press Advertisement Institution, it has been revitalized, and it is suggested that local journalism can develop again.
