Abstract (EN)
Dinar and its surroundings, which are subject to research, are located in the Denizli province outside Afyonkarahisar province. Dinar and its surroundings, the Inner West Anatolian section of the Aegean Region and the Antalya Department are very close together. ArcGIS (10.3) was used from Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software to evaluate geomorphologic and related characteristics of Dinar and its surroundings in the study. Geomorphological characteristics of dinar and its surroundings were investigated in the study. The geographical features closely related to the geomorphology and geomorphology of the research area are explained by the findings obtained by analyzing the data and the current maps and field calculations. The research area has important changes in short distance in terms of geomorphological features. In addition, volcanic activity, karstification and fluvial processes have been influential in the formation of ground formations in the area of research. During the geological ages around Dinar and its vicinity, tectonism has been influential to a great extent. The dinar and its surroundings are composed of metamorphic, sedimentary and magmatic rocks of different ages that have occurred in Mesozoic, Tarsi and Quaternary. Both the tectonic traces and the seismic activity of the research area were exposed to tectonically active periods. Because of the active Dinar fault, the greatest earthquake has been recorded in Dinar during the history and the Dinar and its environs are carrying the risk of earthquake first degree. Keywords; Dinar, Afyonkarahisar, geomorphology. geography info systems, remote sensing.
