Abstract (EN)
The Effect Of Interdisciplinary Teaching Approach On Students' Academic Successes And Permanence Of Learning In Probability SubjectThe aim of this study was to determine the effect of learning environments that were prepared under interdisciplinary teaching approach on students' academic successes and permanence of learning in probability subject. At this point, a quasi experimental layout was held by the researcher. Two different groups of eighth grade students from a secondary school were composed. Activities that were prepared under interdisciplinary teaching approach, were applied to the experiment group which was composed with 20 students and traditional lessons were performed with the control group which was composed with 19 students for four weeks. Probability Pre Test, Probability Last Test, Heredity Pre Test, Heredity Last Test and Test Which Measures Permanence Of Learning Of Probability were used as data collection tools. For seeing whether there was any difference between groups' academic successes, Probability Pre Test, Probability Last Test, Heredity Pre Test and Heredity Last Test were used. For seeing whether there was any difference between groups' permanence, Test Which Measures Permanence Of Learning Of Probability was used. The data which was derived from these tests was analyzed by Independent Samples T Test. Heredity Pre Test and Heredity Last Test are tests about heredity subject which helps this study.According to the result of data analysis, it was found out that there was a difference which was advantage for the experiment group, between academic successes of the groups. Academic successes are probability and heredity successes. Also, this result was same for permanence. According to the results of the study, some suggestions were made to teachers, curriculum and researchers.Key Words: Interdisciplinary Teaching Approach, Academic Success, Permanence Of Learning.
