Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out to examine the factors affecting the quality of life of individuals with dysmenorrhea. 85 volunteers with a mean age of 19, 75 ± 1, 23 years were included in the study. Sociodemographic information and physical and menstrual characteristics of the individuals were recorded. Dysmenorrhea severity of the individuals included in the study was evaluated with the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Individuals' dynamic balances were evaluated by Y balance test (YBT), static balances by standing on one leg test, grip strength by hand dynamometer and flexibilities by sit-reach test. Individuals' menstrual symptoms, premenstrual symptoms, physical activity levels, psychological status, quaility of sleep and health related quality of life were assessed with "Menstruation Symptom Questionarre (MSQ)", "Premenstrual Syndrome Scale (PMSS)" "International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF)", "Beck Depression Inventory (BDI)", "Pittsburgh Sleep Quality İndex (PUKI)'' and "Nottingham Health Profile (NHP)", respectively. According to the results obtained from the study; dynamic balance-right side, dynamic balance-left side and grip strength measurement results showed significance correlation (p <0.05). While no significant relationship was found between elasticity measurement results and static or dynamic balance (p> 0.05), a significant relationship was found between grip strength (p <0.05). NHP has significance correlations with MSS, PMSS, BDI and PUKİ (p <0.05). There is no significant relationship was found between the IPAQ scores and quality of life (p> 0.05). Dynamic balance and the MSS, static balance and the BDI and IPAQ are significantly different (p <0.05). While a statistically significant relationship was found between individuals' grip strength and their physical activity levels (p <0.05), no significant relationship was found between flexibility measurement and any functional parameter (p> 0.05). It was found that the quality of life of individuals with dysmenorrhea was affected by menstrual symptoms, premenstrual symptoms, psychological status, sleep quality, and dynamic and static balance.
