Selâmî's Divan

The Turkhish Mystical Literature is a wide area in the sense of the subjects it includes. Lots of works in this area have been brought to light and been sources for researchers. However, plenty of works on dusty shelves have waited for people who would give a hand. Because of changing the alphabet, to bring out these works that have been studied by researchers limited in number, would make a contrubition to our cultural development and transporting it to new generations. This thesis was prepared about Dîvân-ı Selâmî. We have only one copy of divan. Another copy couldn't be found at the end of our researches. Lack of certain information about the poet caused that the text became the focal point of our study. The poet's literary personality we explained making good use of the text. This work was examined in the sense of contents and form; while some of the subjects are explained, verses that carry the characteristic pecularities dependent on those subjects were chosen and given as examples. While all these were being made, a great effort was expended to transport the details that would perfectly reflect the Mystical poem pleasure. When we look at the content of the text, we recognize that the poet has a wealthy mystical culture. In adition, in the sense of carrying the poet's wide knowledge to the text, this work has peculiarities that are esteemed exeptional in The Turkish Mystical Literature. To know The Turkish Mystical Literature in detail, this work will provide a lot of easiness and contribute to development in the continuity of the Turkish culture. VIII
