Özet (EN)

As geopolitically important geographies, the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean are regions that are desired to be dominated by countries that have power and want to be in every period of history. It has not been possible for hegemonic countries to leave the fate of these geopolitically important areas to themselves. Therefore, it has led to the production of many agreements and policies in world politics for the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean. With the end of the communist-capitalist system struggle in the 2000s, the politics in the region began to change. The search for legitimacy in the emergence of non-regional actors in the region has caused new terrorist incidents and news to be served to the world public opinion. The existence of new discoveries for the Eastern Mediterranean region, especially after the 2000s, has been another factor affecting the political and economic decisions of the region. In the 2010s, the increase in new discoveries and the sharing of political and economic benefits from these discoveries became difficult. The regional atmosphere and common voices that started to emerge in the region with security perceptions and economic cooperation were interrupted by the Arab Spring process. The Republic of Turkey is one of the states affected by this process. In the study, structures, processes and connections were examined and focused on the Eastern Mediterranean energy reserves, the Arab Spring and its effects on Turkey. Is it possible to relate the Eastern Mediterranean hydrocarbon resources to the Arab Spring process in the equation? The answer to his question was sought and evaluated in terms of Turkey.
