Abstract (EN)

In this research, morphology, micromorphology and anatomy 34 taxa of Carex L. subgenus Carex (Cyperaceae) in the East Black Sea region were studied. The specimens were collected between 1992 and 1996, and then they were preserved as herbarium and fixation materials. The morphological studies were carried out from both herbarium and fixation specimens. Some of the important characters were chosen. The samples were grouped according to the chosen important morphological characters, and identified by using flora books and articles. Critical taxonomical characters of each studied taxon of Carex were drawn. For micromorphological studies, the surface characters of achene epidermal cells were illustrated and described by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Close taxa were compared. Micromorphological characters of 32 out of 34 Carex taxa were studied for the first time in this study. For anatomical studies, preparats of transverse sections of culms and epidermis slides and transverse sections of leaves of each specimen studied were made. Anatomical features of each taxon were identified and compared with anatomical features of closely related taxa. Anatomic figures were drawn with a camera lucida. At the results of morphological, anatomical, and micromorphological studies of 34 taxa of subgenus Carex, some additional characters which are useful in the identification of the species with systematical problems became definite and closed species were precisely differentiated, and a new key for species determination were prepared. Some sections, species and subspecies were reorganised. Besides, Carex aequivoca V. Krecz.(section Atratae) was recorded as a new taxon for Turkish flora. Key words: Carex, systematics, anatomy, morphology, micromorphology VT
