Abstract (EN)
SUMMARY Production of High Performance Concrete with Aggregates of the Eastern Black Sea Region and Comparative Analysis of Its Properties with Those of the Other Concrete Despite so many investigations have been performed on high performance concrete the properties of this concrete are not known as well as those of the traditional concrete. Indeed, most of the equations, rules and suggestions in the codes which are used in the design of reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete structures are developed from the data obtained from experimental studies made on concrete that have a strength of less than 40 MPa. It is not exactly known that they could be used in the design of structures constructed by using high performance concrete. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is mat to produced high performance concrete by using the aggregates of Eastern Black Sea Region and to compare this concrete to traditional and light weight concrete. The study done for purpose consists of three chapters and four appendices. In the first chapter, general information is presented. In the second chapter, studies made on high performance, normal weight and light weight concrete produced by the aggregates of Eastern Black Sea Region, and reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete beams produced by using each of concrete mentioned above are given. The conclusions drawn from the results of this study and suggestions are summarized in the third chapter. This last chapter is followed by the list of references and four appendices including the topics on the effects of aggregate petrographic structure on collapse mechanism, purity of sand, stain- gauges, and cracks in flexure. The conclusions obtained from this study showed that high performance concrete can be produced by using aggregates of Eastern Black Sea Region, and that the use of this concrete is useful in many ways, but "Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete" which is valid can not be used in the design of structures constructed by using high performance concrete. Key Words : High Performance Concrete, Experimental and Theoretical Comparison, Axial Compression and Flexure, Normal Weight Concrete, Light Weight Concrete, Reinforced and Prestressed Concrete Beams. vm
