Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY R Study on some population parameters of anchovy (EngrauLis encrasicolus, Linnaeus, 1758) in the Eastern Black Sea. The main aim of this study was to estimate some of the basic characteritics of anchovy population in the Eastern Black Sea. The sex ratio, age and size composition, length- weight, age-length, standard length-total length, body height-standard length relationships, growth rate, condition factor, survival and mortality rates of anchovy were determined. It was found that age group I was the most abundant (66.43 %) followed by age groups II (16.79 %), 0 (14.29 %) and III (2.5 %). Mean total length varried between 7.24 cm and 14.40 cm and body weights between 1.99 g and 16.49 g, while mean total length and body weight were 10.43 cm and 6.77 g respectively. The sex ratio was 59.58 % female and 40.42 % male. Weight-length ralationship was estimated as; W=0.0051 L3.048 and von Bertalanffy growth formula were estimated as; Lt=15.823[1-e-0-340(t+2-1^4>] Wt=23.06 7[1-e-°-340]3.048 Key Words: Anchovy, EngrauLis encrasicolus, population dynamics, growth, mortality, Black Sea.
