Abstract (EN)
In this master?s thesis, the young oriental beech and heights of nitrogen and liming on growth and biomass changes in Artvin Hopa- Cankurtaran location is investigated.The beech forests of the research was rejunevated artificially in 1984. Beech saplings were planted with a distance of 2x3 m in 1985. The average annual rainfall in this research area is 2644 mm. As the soil is excessively washed, the soil becomes asidic character. The acid degrees in the area change between 4.5 and 5 pH.There established 15 trial areas with 400 square meter in size. In 3 of them with lime application, in 3 of them liming +4 kg N, in 3 of them +8 kg N, in 3 of them +2 kg N, the rest of 3 trial areas were left as a control area. To the lime application areas, there applied totally 200kg lime- 100 kg in 2008 and 100 kg in 2009. The average acid degree of the trial areas was measured 4,72. At the end of 2010, the average acid degree of the areas were risen to 5,78 with the effect of lime. Besides 2, 4 and 8kg N was dispersed to the area in 2009 and 2010.As a result of the measurements and statistical analyses, the most significant change is generally identified on the areas where +4 kg N and +8 kg N lime were dispersed.Key words: Beech, lime, nitrogen, pH, acid.
