Abstract (EN)

In this study, AZ91 Magnesium alloy is produced by cold chamber die casting machine. The casting process was carried out using different parameters (casting temperature, in-mold pressure and gating input speed). In addition, test samples were produced by conventional casting method. Tensile test, hardness test, abrasion test and microstructure analysis of samples were performed. In addition, the effect of casting process parameters on the mechanical properties was determined in the pressure casting method. The mechanical properties of the samples produced by pressure casting and traditional casting method were compared. In-mold pressure values of 1000 bar for the first and second samples and 1200 bar for the third sample were selected. Runway entry speed is determined as 30 m / s, 45 m / s and 45 m / s. Tensile test specimens were produced by applying casting temperatures of 680 ° C, 680 ° C and 640 ° C respectively. The casting temperature and in-mold pressure remained constant and the runner entry speed increased from 30 m / s to 45 m / s, resulting in coarse grain size and reduced mechanical properties (tensile strength, hardness values and wear resistance). Decreasing the casting temperature by 640 ° C and increasing the in-mold pressure to 1200 Bar strength values were obtained close to the traditional casting method. In abrasion tests, it was observed that there was a decrease in friction coefficient and no loss of material with the increase of hardness values of the sample produced by pressure casting method. Since the cooling rate in the traditional casting method is slower than that of the pressure casting method, high mechanical properties are obtained by the formation of fine-grained structure in the pressure casting method. Experimental results are given in the experimental findings section.
