Abstract (EN)
Social and economic developments in recent years have brought to the agenda the search for a new economic model for resource use. In line with these searches, the circular economy model has emerged. Unlike the linear economy model, the circular economy model is based on sustainable resource use. The European Union (EU) has been a pioneer in the transition to a circular economy model based on a different understanding. The publication of the Circular Economy Action Plan by the EU in 2015 is considered the first concrete step. Türkiye, as a trade partner of the EU, has also carried out studies and regulations regarding the circular economy within the understanding of sustainability. Various incentive tools are used to accelerate the transition to the circular economy model. In this context, circular economy activities in selected EU member countries and Turkey are supported by financial incentive instruments. Financial incentives; It is implemented through subsidies, tax reductions and investment incentives. Although financial incentives have an important function in ensuring the transition to a circular economy model, they must be implemented in a planned and consistent manner in order to be efficient. In this study, financial incentives implemented for the circular economy sector are examined from the perspective of Türkiye and selected EU member countries.
