Abstract (EN)
This study examines the male protagonists in Duygu Asena's short story collection, which includes thirteen stories and one fairy tale, and in her six novels. The first section, the Introduction, establishes a theoretical framework by focusing on gender, masculinity, and male roles. The second section explores Duygu Asena's life and literary personality, and provides information about her works. The third section examines in detail the male protagonists in her novels "Kadın Adı Yok, Başka Aşk Da Yok" (There Is No Woman's Name, Actually Love Doesn't Exist), " Aynada Aşk Vardı" (There Was Love in the Mirror), "Başlak Özgürsün" (Actually Free), " Aşk Gidiyorum Demez" (Love Is Going), and "Paramparça" (Paramparça). The male protagonists in her short story collection "Heroes Are Always Men" are also examined in detail. In examining the male characters, a classification is made according to the distinctive characteristics of the characters in the works and the characters are discussed under these headings. The conclusion section provides a general assessment, examining the psychological, physical, and social worlds of the male protagonists. Their marital status, professional life, perspectives on events, the impact of female protagonists on their lives, their perspectives on women, and their role in the work's plot are examined in detail. The study examines the way a feminist novelist treats male protagonists in her works. The study is text-based and was conducted using qualitative research methods, a scientific method. Literature review, archival research, and document analysis were used to progress from the fragment to the whole.
