Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to examine relationships of emotional intelligence and emotional intelligence's sub-dimensions with job performance and life satisfaction. For this purpose, conceptual framework has been formed by searching local and foreign literature on variables of emotional intelligence, sub-dimensions of emotional intelligence, job performance and life satisfaction. In addition, brief information has been given about structural equation modeling which has been used in data analysis. Then, a field study has been carried out on the academicians of Bayburt University and Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University to research these relationships. The data obtained were analyzed by using SPSS and AMOS package programs and the research hypotheses have been tested. Two models have been proposed in this study. In first model; direct relationships among emotional intelligence, job performance and life satisfaction have been examined. Also, the mediation effect of life satisfaction in relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance has been examined. All the relationships examined in this model have been found as positively significant. In second model; direct relationships among sub-dimensions of emotional intelligence, job performance and life satisfaction have been examined. Also, mediation effect of life satisfaction between the sub-dimensions of emotional intelligence and job performance has been examined. Awareness of own feelings, awareness of others' feelings and emotion usage which are sub-dimensions of emotional intelligence have positive relationship, yet emotion regulation does not have an effect on job performance. The use of life satisfaction as a mediator variable in current relations has made a positive contribution to relations. It has been found positively significant relationship between life satisfaction and sub-dimensions of emotional intelligence (emotion use, emotion regulation), but there has not been significant relationship between sub-dimensions of emotional intelligence (awareness of own feelings, awareness of others' feelings) and life satisfaction. Keywords: Structural Equation Modeling, Emotional Intelligence, Job Performance and Life Satisfaction.
