Abstract (EN)

Ebru is a book decoration art made by transferring patterns created with paints on water with increased density, materials such as tragacanth, carrageenan, flax seed, salep, quince seeds, fenugreek seeds to paper. Marbling appears with a non-repeating structure on water with increased consistency. The artist creates his work by almost integrating on the water. Because these artistic productions are presented with many different materials such as textiles and ceramics besides paper. Although we do not have certain information about where and when Ebru started, it has an important place in Turkish book arts. Turkish marbling, which is reshaped in different styles periodically, is also seen in different geographies. From the Ottoman period to the present, Turkish marbling has struggled to exist. Despite the classical understanding that continued with the teacher Necmettin Okyay, the emphasis on innovation is seen in today's Turkish marbling art. Today's artists are making an effort to take the knowledge taken over from the history of marbling art one step further. Turkish Marbling Art is introduced on national and international platforms with great devotion. In this research, the artistic personality of Ahmet Mahmut Pesteli, one of the contemporary artists of Turkish Marbling Art, and her works were examined The works within the scope of the subject belong to Ahmet Mahmut Peşteli, and the methods, techniques and motifs that the artist used in the art of marbling were examined. The research was conducted using descriptive methods such as scanning, interview and observation. The works, which have the characteristics of a monographic study, are handled holistically. Keywords: Marbling, marbling art, flower motif
