Abstract (EN)
Cyprus is an important island in terms of its geopolitical position. Therefore, many states wanted to take Cyprus under their rule. The Greeks have struggled for a long time to realize ENOSİS, that is to connect Cyprus with Greece. In line with these goals, the Greeks attackted the Turks living in Cyprus. Especially because the Greeks attacks intensified in 1963, 1964 and 1967 Turkey has taken initiatives to prevent these attacks. The Republic of Turkey did not condone cruelty to be more and it has realized the Cyprus Peace Operation on July 20, 1974. As the name suggests, this operation was carried out to bring peace to Cyprus. When no result was reached at the Geneva conference held at the end of the 1st Cyprus Peace Operation, which started on 20 July 1974, the 2nd Cyprus Peace Operation was started on 14 August 1974. History, which is only based on documents, is the history of states, statesmen and wars. It was moving away from the public. The purpose of oral history is to reveal the facts by going into the details by seeing what has been ignored. In this thesis, it is tried to explain Cyprus Peace Operation through the eyes of the Cyprus veterans in Edirne. Keywords: Cyprus, Cyprus Peace Operation, Cyprus Veterans, Oral History, Edirne
