Abstract (EN)

The place is one of the most important elements of literature. Writers, poets have to make use of the place while conveying emotions and thoughts to reader. In this study, 16th century classical Turkish literary poet Edirneli Nazmî's Divan's places were determined, the purpose of using poet's determined places in poetry was determined and the effect of places on poet's was examined. The study consists of two parts. In the first chapter, the definition of the space has been made and the relation between the emergence process of the space types and the space-literature relation has been mentioned. In the second part, the places that the poet used in his poems and the purpose of using these place is explained. Edirneli Nazmî is to emphasize the temporality of world life, to embody his ideas and feelings, to embody abstract concepts and to enrich his vocabulary in poetry. The places are active in conveying the poets feelings and thoughts to the reader.
