Özet (EN)
The toxic effects of different dimothoate rations (10, 25, 50, 75 and 100 µg/ml) were investigated on the amount of lipid, protein, carbohydrate, malondialdehyde (MDA) of the larvae of greater wax moth Galleria mellonella L. and on the activity of catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) which are antioxidant enzyme. Dimothoate were injected into G. mellonella larvae using a hamilton syringe. The biochemical parameters were measured using spectrophotometric methods. The amount of protein, lipid and carbohydrate significantly lowered in the high concentrations of dimothoate (75 and 100 µg/ml) at all times. We found that all different concentration of dimothoate injection resulted in gradually increased the MDA contend at 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. MDA contend increased in a dose-dependent. Although SOD and catalase enzyme activity were increased at low dimethote (10, 25, 50 µg/ml), the ativity of SOD and catalase tended to decrease at high level of dimethate (75 and 100) compared with the control. MDA content can be used as a reliable biomarkır of dimothoate contamination in model insect G. mellonella. Keywords: Dimothoate, enzyme, superoxide dismutase, lipid, Galleria mellonella
