Özet (EN)

Aim of this research project is to investigate effects of lectures which are taught by pedagogical songs and games on academic success of students and permanence of this success in "Let's know matter" unit in the fourth-grade Science course. Model group of the research was formed from 38 fourth-grade students of two different classes of Cumhuriyet İlkokulu run by National Minister of Education in Bayburt city center in fall semester of 2016-2017 Education-Teaching Year. Semi-experimental methodology with pre-test and last-test groups was employed in the study. One of the classrooms was selected randomly as the experimental group (n=22) and the other as the control group (n=16). While the students in test group were educated with pedagogical songs and games, the students in the control group were educated according to classical educational model and methods proposed by the text books approved by the Minister of Education and depending on Science Teaching Program. As a data collecting tool, "Let's Know Matter Success Test (MTBT)" was applied to the all students in both test and control groups before and after education. All data was processed with SPSS 21 software. To check the hypothesis of the project Paired Samples t-test and Independent Samples t-test were used. Evaluation of data from the preliminary tests indicated that both groups were equivalent. According the results of statistical analysis, the lectures taught by pedagogical songs and games increase academic success of students and permanence of this success. Keywords: Let's know matter, pedagogical songs and games, academic success, permanence level.
