Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between Economic Growth and Stock Market Performance through the example of Turkey and to analyze the result econometrically and to interpret it in terms of macroeconomics. The study consists of three main parts. In the first part, subjects such as the concept of economic growth, Turkey's history of economic growth, types of economic growth and economic growth theories are discussed. It also focuses on how economic growth is calculated and the importance of economic growth. In addition, cyclical fluctuations affecting economic growth and the effect of monetary policy on economic growth are also explained. In the second part, markets and the stock market are discussed. The relationship between economic growth and stock market performance is examined. In this section, issues such as how economic growth can affect stock market performance and how stock market indices can be used as economic growth indicators are discussed. In the third chapter, the relationship between economic growth and stock market performance and prices is examined using time series analysis, one of the econometric methods. The data obtained as a result of this analysis are analyzed in terms of macroeconomics. In this section, it is focused on how the relationship between economic growth and stock market performance and prices can be explained statistically and what kind of results can be obtained.
