The semantic changes in different bâbs of the same root-lettered third verbs in al-Mu'cemu'l-vasît (Specific to the third bâb)

In this study, the semantic changes in different bâbs of the same root-lettered sulâsî verbs in al-Mu'cemu'l-Vasît specific to the third bâb will be examined. The study consists of introduction, two parts and conclusion. In the introduction, the subject and the purpose of the research are explained. In the first part, The nature of the dictionary and its place in the Arabic language examined under the titles of historical development of Arabic language and dictionary, lexicography and history of Arabic dictionary. Along with these, the definition, subject, importance and purpose of Sarf science are explained in titles. In addition, verbs in Arabic language, sülasi abstract (mücerret) verbs and their infinitives and mizân-ı sarfî (vezin ölçüsü = rhythm scheme or Rhythmmeter) concepts were discussed. In the second part, brief information is given about al-Mu'cemu'l-Vasît, which is the source of the research subject.Then, starting from the elif letter up to the letter "yâ" on all letters specific to the third bâb where verbs having same source but different bodies which have different meaning on Sülasi muecerret bâbs discussed in tables. In the conclusion part, the data obtained as a result of the research are analyzed and how many verbs come from which letter are exposed in various aspects.
