Abstract (EN)

The research covers 16 professional handball players between the ages of 18-23 who play for Aziziye Thermal Sports Club. The study groups were applied aerobic and anaerobic test protocols (Cooper Test and Wintage Test) after the 6 weeks of handball general preparation training. The same test protocols were repeated after the 6 weeks of handball specific preparation training. Besides, blood samples were taken to determine LA (lactic acid) levels before and after the tests. The data obtained were analysed with SPSS 20 for windows package programme. The data have shown that WavT1LA (General Preparation Period Wintage anaerobic strength test LA level) and COAT1LA (General preparation period Cooper aerobic strength test LA level) levels of the sportsmen increased significantly according to DIN1LA (general preparation rested LA level) and Want2LA (specific preparation period Wintage anaerobic strength test LA level) and COAT2LA (specific preparation period Cooper aerobic strength test LA level) values of them increased significantly according to DIN2LA (specific preparation rested LA level) (P<0.001). Significant differences were detected in terms of the general and specific preparation period aerobic strength values (between COAT1LA and COAT2LA) (P<0.001). No significant relations were found between the anaerobic strength values and post-wintage test LA values, and between the aerobic strength values and postcooper test LA values. According to their rested conditions, LA levels of the sportsmen showed an increase with aerobic and anaerobic exercises during both general preparation and specific preparation periods. The aerobic strength values of the sportsmen increased within specific preparation period. Moreover, after the aerobic and anaerobic tests, no relations have been found between their LA levels and aerobic/anaerobic strength levels. Key words: Lactic acid , Wingate, Cooper, Aerobic, Anaerobic
