Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the sport-specific achievement motivation of elite kick boxers according to different variables. The population of the research group consists of all elite kick boxers, while the sample consists of a total of 132 elite athletes, 46 women and 86 men, who participated in the Senior Turkish Championship in 2024. The personal information form prepared by the researcher and "the Sport-Specific Achievement Motivation Scale (SSAMS)" consisting of 40 items were used as data collection tools in the study. SPSS 25.0 package program was used in the analysis of the data and the margin of error was determined as 0.05. Descriptive statistical methods were applied in the analysis of the data. The independent sample t-test was used to compare two independent groups and one way ANOVA analysis was used to compare more than two independent groups. Bonferonni test was used to determine the difference between groups as a result of anova test. According to the data obtained as a result of the research, a significant difference was found between the participants' education level, sports background duration and working time with current antennas and sport-specific achievement motivations (p<0.05). A statistically significant difference was found especially in the sub-dimensions of the motive to show strength, and the scale mean score in the variable of duration of involvement in kickboxing and in the sub-dimensions of failure avoidance in the variable of working with the current coach. However, no significant difference was found between gender, age and marital status variables and sport-specific achievement motivations (p>0.05). As a result, it can be said that as the educational status of elite kick boxers increases, it helps individuals to regulate goal setting, planning and intrinsic motivation, as well as the experiences they have and the increase in the time spent with their coach will increase their confidence and desire to approach success, while their motives to avoid failure will increase.
