Abstract (EN)

One of the most important cities of Hejaz region was Taif. The Saqif tribe residing in Taif becomes one of he most important tribes of the Arabian peninsula because of its political, social, cultural and trade connections. Although the people of the Hanif belief takes place among the tribal members in the period of ignorance they have generally adopted a negative attitude with the beginning of the Islamic invitation. As one of the last Arabs in the Arab tribe, Saqif tribe in command of Ebubekir entered into Ridde war against apostates besides remaining faithful to Islam after. Hz. Muhammed had moved to hereafter. Saqif tribe known to have taken some administirative duties in the period of The Rashidun Caliphate came to the foregrounds of Omayyads Caliphate. The most powerful support came from the Saqif tribe during nearly 90 years of the Omayyads control. In this thesis, the activties of the Saqif tribe and tribal members in the Omayyads Caliphate period were examined. Throughout the History of Islam, there is the Saqif Tribe in the background of the criticisms directed at the Omayyads. This situation further increases the importance of the Saqif Tribe. Saqif tribe, which is the most important dynamic that maintains the power of Omayyads, played a leading role in many events that will last until now.
