Muslims' allegiance to Prophet Muhammad and their understanding of the sunnah in Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia

In this study, the devotion of Muslims in Yogyakarta to the Prophet Muhammad and their understanding of Sunnah were examined; various forms of expression of devotion such as religious practices, social activities, participation in religious celebrations related to the Prophet Muhammad were tried to be evaluated, and the relationship between their devotion to Sunnah and daily life practices was investigated. Data collection and analysis methods were used in the study, and various studies published both in Turkey and abroad were used in the literature review to ensure comprehensiveness and inclusiveness. According to the findings of this study, it has been determined that Muslims in Yogyakarta have a high level of devotion to the Prophet Muhammad, this devotion is reflected in various community activities, and they show spiritual depth and sincerity in understanding the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad and taking his teachings as an example. It has been concluded that Yogyakarta Muslims see the Prophet Muhammad not only as a historical figure or religious leader, but also as a beloved and exemplary figure in all aspects of life, integrating Islamic values with their traditions while applying the Sunnah in their lives, and
